Yes we liberated Iraq. And now the rule of law prevails. Earlier this month a 17 year old girl was stoned to death in the street for loving a boy of the wrong religion. Yes that's right, stoned to death while Iraqi security forces stood and watched, doing nothing.
We put people in jail for leaving their own dogs in the car with the windows down and water in the car. But news of this child's murder barely got a blip in the news cycle. And it only took CNN 18 days to do a story on it. But hey, they put the video up on their page to be sure the child was humiliated further, even in death.
We have to be sensitive you know, to cultural and religious differences. Like hell. Human rights is not a matter of religious freedom. Killing young girls is not an option. This was a human sacrifice for the sake of honor. Enough. This is the twenty-first century. When are we going to stand up and condemn this? This isn't about being Muslim! It's about being a murderer. God knows we had enough laws on the books protecting husbands who killed their wives in domestic cases in the south until recently.
Funny, I didn't hear a word about it from all our fancy politicians in the US and Canada. I didn't see any news reports of them speaking out about this. But after all it was just an Iraqi, a Kurd really and a girl at that. And she did do something bad afterall. And we can't interfere in the local matters and religious customs.
Now this didn't happen in the part of the country that's a lost cause to rampant violence. No this happened in the NICE part of Iraq where things are just fine. And the US trained and armed the security forces that stood by and did nothing.
For this our children and their children die like dogs everyday.
